Charleston, SC Venues for Parties and Weddings - Part 2

Almost anywhere in our beautiful city is the perfect backdrop for a party, wedding, or other event. We're so lucky to live here. But, as we all know, there's always something going on, and people book out venues quickly! It's good to have several options in mind when calling around trying to find the best one that fits your needs. Luckily, so many AMAZING venues host events all the time. So, we decided to make part 2 of our 'Charleston, SC Venues for Parties and Weddings.'

Historic Rice Mill Building

As a native of Charleston, Lockwood Blvd has always been one of my favorite (if not very favorite) streets in Charleston. Everywhere you look, there's a view of the water and the city and it never gets old. A very unassuming building called the Rice Mill Building sits at the light with a gas station on a corner. The outside of the building has barely changed and still is as beautiful as it was decades ago.

Fun fact - It's Charleston's only original antebellum rice mill still standing today. The bottom floor is an excellent place for a ceremony and/or reception that has a capacity of 300 people. Open the back doors there's a large outside area with absolutely stunning views of the Ashley River. It's a great place to catch any Charleston cotton candy sunset.

I'on Creek Club

In the back of I'on Neighborhood is the I'on Creek Club, which has views of Hobcaw Creek and is (wait for it) simply beautiful. I know, I know. We say it about every venue on the water, but it doesn't get much better than waterfront views in Charleston. But I digress.

The creek club's interior has a big open floorplan, high ceilings and large windows. The 1900-square-foot porch makes this venue a great spot for an event any time of the year. I've been to many events there and not one has ever disappointed.

Charleston Maritime Center

Another awesome location for any event is the Charleston Maritime Center. It's a marina and the home of the 'Tall Ships' event, but it also rents out its location for events. It's at the corner of Calhoun and Concord, down the street from the Charleston Aquarium.

It has panoramic views of the Charleston Harbor, Ravenel Bridge, and Patriots Point and a GREAT location to catch a sunset. Access to indoor and outdoor space is large enough to host a huge event.

Charleston County Parks

I know this might seem random but hear me out πŸ˜€ Most people don't think about having an event at one of the parks, but they are another fantastic place to have one, and it's a venue that most people don't think of. Many park spaces are on or near the waterfront, so the views are epic. Some don't allow weddings on the grounds, but you can host other types of events there.

Cottages on Charleston Harbor

Last but not least. If you're looking for a gorgeous spot for a small and intimate gathering, this is the place!

Talk about a view! I know I say this about most venues with a view of the water, but wow! This site boasts views of the Charleston Harbor as far as the eyes can see - Fort Sumpter, Sullivan's Island to the Charleston Peninsula.

This space is quaint and more secluded than most, so it's the perfect spot for a small, intimate event. You'll be able to have a private reception in one of the most beautiful spots Charleston has to offer.
